Brazilian Felipe Massa swept to a hat-trick of Turkish Grand Prix victories from pole position on Sunday with another domineering display for Ferrari at Istanbul Park. The Latin American triumphed by 3.7 seconds ahead of McLaren’s British driver Lewis Hamilton with reigning champion Finn Kimi Raikkonen less than half-a-second behind in third in the other Ferrari.
Hamilton pulled off the overtaking move of the race on Massa and denied Ferrari likely one-two despite adopting a three-stop fuel strategy compared to his rival’s two stopper. But there was no stopping Massa who controlled the 58-lap race on the 5.338km track which he clearly loves. Riakkonnen’s lead in the championship was cut to seven points with Massa now second, on counter back, from last year’s runner-up Hamilton.
Further down the field, Force India’s Italian veteran Giancarlo Fisichella drove right over the Williams of Kazuki Nakajima, missing the Japanese driver by inches but sending them both spinning into retirement in the gravel after collision at the start.

The Australian Football League a combination of Soccer, Basketball and Rugby league is set to enter India next February or in early 2010.
As quoted by AFL’s General Manager Dale Holmes at a media conference, “We have visited four cities in India in trying to promote the AFL which is our nation’s winter sport and very popular in our country. We are talking to various companies here to promote it and we will hold an exhibition tie in India either in February 2009 or 2010,”
He further went on to say that, “We have a 400,000 strong Indian community in Australia and want them to take up to the game. (Australian cricket captain) Ricky Ponting is AFL’s ambassador in India. A lot of Australian cricketers have played this sport in their younger days and, in fact, the game was invented by the cricketers in 1858 and pre-dates rugby,” he said.
Since rugby has not caught up in India as yet, their first attempt would be to try and get support from the corporate community in the country. Holmes said as a first attempt that he would make it possible for an Indian amateur team to take part in an AFL international tournament at the Melbourne Cricket Ground later this year.
